ESG Committee visit at Living Places

On Wednesday 11th of September, the ESG Committee visited Living Places.

Living Places is a forward-thinking and innovative initiative by Velux, which gathers different actors to build low-carbon homes with excellent in-door climates and comfort as a main priority. The committee was very fortunate, as Living Places is to be relocated as of October this year.

About Living Places:
The Living Places exhibition contains seven prototype buildings – five open pavilions and two completed houses – which illustrate VELUX’s proposal for healthy, low-carbon homes and communities. Each of the prototypes are built in accordance with the five principles of living spaces and provides inspiration to architects and developers looking for a more sustainable way to build.
These living spaces help people seek solutions for building and living, and allow the public – residents and visitors – to visit and experience the houses for themselves.
In the construction of these houses and pavilions, everything was considered to ensure a long life-cycle, lower costs, comfort and health. For more information, watch a video here

The ESG Committee, chaired by CEO of EcoTree Thomas Canguilhem, met to discuss their sustainability challenges and to set a direction for the committee meetings to come. 15 companies were represented, and they engaged in discussions of what is important to them within the committee such as: the particular sustainability foci of each company, their approach to ESG regulation and reporting and their wishes for the next meetings. After the discussion inside one of the pavilions of Living Places, the committee had a guided tour of the premises.
